INITIAL THOUGHTS

The Three Cs serve as the organizational framework for this learning module and outline how activities are directed in order to achieve the PLM goals and objectives. We maintain that effective communication, restorative circles, and impactful coaching are interdependent practices that determine the success or failure of Restorative Practices for classroom use. The Three Cs are revisited in depth in the Perspectives and Resources section of the PLM.

WHAT DO YOU ALREADY KNOW?

As you're building an understanding of Restorative Practices, reflect on what you have learned and what you already know.

First, rate your prior knowledge of communication, circles, and coaching within the context of Restorative Practices on a scale of 1 - 5,

1 being "no prior knowledge whatsoever," and 5 being "a full understanding already."

Next, watch the video below by Leaving the Village (2016) that explains why we need Restorative Practices in schools.

Pause the video at the appropriate timestamp to record your answers on the MODULE WORKSHEET.
